Meet Pastor Dan



Rev. Dan Brand has served as our Pastor since June of 2005. Prior to his appointment to Holiday Hills UMC, he served 7 years as the Pastor for the Center Grove UMC, Sheridan, AR. Under his leadership, the church went from a dying congregation into a transforming congregation. He has served as the Chairman for the Commission on Small Membership churches for the Arkansas Conference and currently serves on the Arkansas Conference course of Study Board of Managers and Mount Eagle Board of Directors. He served on the Strategic Initiative #6 Task Force and the Apportionment Review task force. He is very active in the Kairos Prison Ministry at the Dept. of Corrections at the Pine Bluff Unit and the Prayer of Jabez Ministries at Tucker Maximum Security Unit. He has served on 50 “Walk to Emmaus” weekends at the “Noah’s of Ark” and “Near the Cross” communities.

Career History

Prior to answering God’s call into the Ministry, Dan had a 35-year distinguished career before retiring from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). His last tour of duty was as the Associate Director of the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), located just north of Pine Bluff, AR. He has received many awards including the FDA highest “Award of Merit.” He was a member of the U.S. Govt. Senior Executive Service. During his last 5 years of service, he served as the Chairman for the Federal Laboratory Consortium with direct oversight of 711 Federal laboratories.
